How To Pack Common Fragile Items
Plates
Plates should be stacked vertically in boxes lined with crumpled packing paper on the bottom and top. Wrap each plate in bubble wrap secured by tape. Place paper in between plates, and don’t overpack the box.
Glasses
Glasses should be wrapped individually with packing paper and placed inside larger pieces to diminish empty space. Line boxes with packing paper top and bottom. Place paper in between glasses as well, to reduce the chance of items moving around.
Picture Frames
These should be placed in paper lined boxes. If they are larger than eight inches, place them standing with paper crumpled between each piece.
TVs
Remove any wiring and place that in a separate box, labelled. Next, wrap your TV in a soft moving blanket, secured around the TV with packing tape. Then place it in a box and close it up. Be sure the box is the appropriate size.
Lastly, make sure to let your movers know which boxes contain which fragile items so that they can be more aware and handle these boxes with extra care. Most moving companies will be able to provide specialized boxes and tools for fragile items.
